Cancellation & refund policy
We know plans can change. We've tried to keep this simple, fair and transparent.
Booking & payment
A 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking.
The remaining balance is due 60 days before departure. For bookings made less than 60 days before departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
If you cancel
- 90+ days before departure: 100% refund
- 61–89 days: deposit is non-refundable, but can be used as credit towards another Home Ground trip
- 31–60 days: 50% refund of the total trip price
- Less than 30 days: no refund
Trip credit is valid for 18 months from the original departure date.
Where possible, you may also transfer your booking to another rider at no additional charge.
If we cancel
If we need to cancel your trip, you can choose between:
- a 100% refund, or
- transferring your payment to another Home Ground trip.
We are not responsible for additional costs such as flights, accommodation booked independently or other travel arrangements.
Weather & safety
Cycling happens outdoors. Rain, heat or changing weather conditions do not automatically result in cancellation.
For safety reasons, we may modify routes, distances, timings or individual stages of a trip. Significant changes will always be communicated to you.
Minimum group size
Some departures may require a minimum number of riders. If we need to cancel because the minimum group size has not been reached, we will let you know in advance and offer a full refund or an alternative trip.
No-shows & unused services
No refund is available if you arrive late, leave the trip early, do not participate in part of the itinerary or do not show up.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical expenses, cycling activities, injury and emergency evacuation.
Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days.
